The tour of Bolivar Barranquilla Zoo
It's situated in the center of Barranquilla and is the most important avenue in the city. This avenue led to the expansion of the city that is still produced today. Near the square are the most prominent Republicans buildings so it's a must if you travel to Barranquilla. This is a complete zoo with over 140 different species among which predominate the usual Caribbean. We can find marmosets, bats, reptiles, chimpanzees, eagles, condors, flamingos, manatees, spectacled bears, lions and parrots and other animals.
Bocas de Ceniza Romantic Museum
It's the name that is popularly known to the mouth of the Magdalena River in the Caribbean Sea. We organize boat trips to visit their marshes and sightseeing in its restaurants or enjoy typical regional dishes. There is also option to do a tour on a train. This is an old Republican style mansion donated to the city, which displays exhibits relating to the history of the city such as costumes from the carnival, the typewriter by Gabriel García Márquez, Simón Bolívar's letters, photographs and a small periodicals on Barranquilla.
Barranquilla Carnival St. Nicholas Church
One of the most representative of the city of Barranquilla who competes in importance with the carnival in Rio de Janeiro. It's a prominent church in the city of Barranquilla seventeenth century, made in Gothic style and built in honor of the city's patron San Nicolas de Tolentino. It's situated near the football stadium Roberto Melendez south of the city. Built on the occasion of the celebration of Copa America 2001 and has a sculpture of the most popular singer in Barranquilla, Shakira. It was built in 1982 and designed by Alexander Obrerón adopting the name of the author and playwright Amira de la Rosa. You could say that is the cultural center of Barranquilla, which offers plays, painting exhibitions and various musical performances.
