| There are several churches in the Villa de Leyva among those that highlight the Carmelite church two chapels built in 1850 in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, San Agustin also in 1850 and the convent of San Francisco was built in 1614 and subsequently abandoned in 1821. | It's a house that dates from the early seventeenth century and known for being the resting place of Antonio Nariño, the precursor of independence who died in this place in December 1823.
